FAQ
Gameplay Frequently Asked Questions.
-
What is Icebreakers?
It is a fast action 3D family game in which players travel at blazing speeds on ice trail-generating sleds called “Icebreakers whose ice trail boosters propel the sled forward and create trails that can be used as obstacles for opponents.
-
If I hit a trail would I immediately wipe out?
Not exactly. The number of hits a icebreakers can take is determined by its resistance, speed and how hard the trail is (trails melt down with time). However, a smoking Icebreaker is a sign it is about to go down for the count
-
Where are the brakes?
There are no brakes. You can slow down by not using turbo, but there is no way to stop an Icebreaker once is going… until it crashes or the game ends.
-
Can I just crash into a player with the sled instead of taking it down with the ice trail?
You can, but you will also be damaged and you will score no points in Battle Royale.
-
Can I attack another player with a special attack?
Basically no, special attacks are meant to take out ice trails, not opponents themselves. Tournament rules, sorry.
-
What are snowballs for?
Snowballs are available for all players. You can use them to temporarily blind players and generally confuse them. They do not cause harm, but they can cause trouble, the more the merrier.
-
What are ramps for?
Ramps and jumping can be used to grab items in otherwise unreachable areas and also to safely pass above ground trails. Be careful though, as you can crash against other trails from other jumpers and also you can take damage by jumping on top of a trail.
-
Can I crash with the environment too?
You sustain minimal damage crashing against the environment, but if you get stuck against a wall for too long, your engine will explode.
-
Can I go through water?
Only if it’s frozen, otherwise no, the sleds are too heavy to float, and the engine will react violently if it goes underwater.
-
Can I sustain damage from falling off a high ramp?
Thankfully no,the sleds have excellent suspension and collision suppression underneath, so there’s no damage from falling.
-
When is it safe to hit a trail?
It’s always best to avoid trails, but if there is no other choice, try to crash against melting (uncolored) trails instead of new trails (colored) as they do less damage. Also avoid glowing trails, they are extra strong. In any case, if your engine is already smoking, avoid all trails!
-
How can I play multi player on a single computer?
You will require one PC joypad or an XBox controller per additional player. Up to 4 players can play this way.
